When I originally looked and agreed to buy the mobile home I did my own inspection. Upon inspecting the home I only quickly walked thru and failed to remove large furniture or area rugs to look at the condition of the floor!

Hiring a professional photographer is money well spent. For a relatively small fee they will shoot professional property images and process them to ensure it is displayed in the best possible light, literally. After all, it would be a shame to spend a bunch of money on advertisements, only to find poor real estate photography makes the property seem the least attractive one on the page.

The NYT reported on a talk by Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke in which he claimed that the low interest rates set by the Fed were not responsible for the housing bubble, but rather “lax regulation.” This is taken as an exoneration of Mr. Bernanke’s performance at the Fed. It isn’t.

Fix-up buyers are largely rare birds in a market with a huge supply of houses for sale and a continuing shortage of takers—tax credit notwithstanding. In some markets that have seen huge price declines, “flippers”—those who buy cheap, renovate quickly, and turn houses around for profitable sale—are at work again.
