As an active member of the Apartment Association of Southeastern WI legislative committee for the past twenty some years and a rental property owner since 1977, I found that I could learn a lot of what works and what doesn’t by reading news articles related to rental housing from other communities across the nation.
There real are a lot of smart landlords who have “been there before” and annoying laws have a way of propagating themselves from one community to the whole country in pretty short order.
We collect news and articles related to landlord tenant law, code enforcement, lead paint regulations, real estate law, real estate investment, the housing bubble and foreclosures. We review hundreds of articles a week to find those that are most relevant.
Since 1998 three or four of the best are posted each day to email discussion groups that we maintain for landlords such as ApartmentAssoc at YahooGroups.com, a 830 member list that is open to the public.
The Rental News site’s purpose is to share these issues and concerns with even a wider audience. The links at the bottom will take you to the original article’s websites. We also encourage you to post comments to open the discussion up.
The “Older Post” link in the top menu bar gives you access to articles posted prior to the October 2009 software upgrade, along with a search feature.
